Certificate of Analysis (COA): How to Verify the Purity of a Research Peptide

In the research peptide market, quality varies enormously between suppliers. The only reliable way to verify the real purity of a batch is to check its Certificate of Analysis (COA).

What is a COA?

A Certificate of Analysis is a report produced by an independent laboratory certifying the actual composition of a batch using validated analytical methods: high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC/UPLC), mass spectrometry (MS), or MALDI-MS depending on the molecule. At NOVALYXLABS, every batch is tested by the Brown Biology Institute.

Information to check on a COA

  • Batch number — must exactly match the vial received
  • Measured purity — ideally above 99%
  • Analytical method used
  • Analysis date
  • Name of the independent laboratory

Why some suppliers don't provide one

Independent lab testing has a cost, and some suppliers skip it or provide generic COAs not linked to the actual batch shipped. That's a major warning sign.

How NOVALYXLABS operates

Every reference in our catalog is systematically tested before shipping, with the corresponding COA available directly on the product page.

Note: all NOVALYXLABS products are strictly intended for scientific research in laboratory settings, not for human or animal consumption.
